Upstart Bio Ltd was founded in 2019 by Matt Crow, leveraging 25 years of industrial expertise in life sciences, microbiology, molecular biology, and clinical diagnostics. The company was established to deliver tailored, expert guidance to small start-up enterprises seeking to transition their technical product concepts through initial funding, scale-up, and toward commercial achievement—be it a first product launch, technology licensing, acquisition, or organic growth. Upstart Bio Ltd was established with a commitment to driving progress with a forward-looking approach, minimising risk and rework while maintaining focus on budget, commercial objectives and the reality of key funding milestones.
Matt brings a robust scientific foundation in molecular biology, complemented by substantial commercial experience within start-ups and advanced technology firms such as DNA Research Innovations, Green Biologics, Oxford Gene Technology, and Momentum Bioscience. Skills and experience cover all technical areas important to growing innovative businesses including, R+D, project management, product development, management systems, manufacturing, IP development, and grant applications.
